Jessica Welch, MS, RDN

I believe that nutrition has an effect on not just our physical well being but also our psychological well being. I began college wanting to be a doctor because I thought that was the only way to help people. Loss of a family member during my first year of college brought on a detour and I discovered my passion for nutrition and desire to educate, heal and help people through nourishing their bodies.

I have been a registered dietitian for the past 13 years, spending the majority of my career working in the field of mental health where I have been privileged to provide nutrition counseling and education to so many individuals. I have years of experience working in the area of chemical dependency and eating disorders. Through the years I have worked in a dialysis center, bariatric clinic, drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, and two well-known eating disorder treatment facilities in the state of MN.

I have 10 years of experience working with eating disorders in intensive programming and outpatient settings. I have extensive experience working with clients with co-occurring mental health diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, chemical dependency, disordered eating, and binge eating disorder.

I am passionate about helping people improve their relationship with food while improving their overall physical, emotional and psychological health. I believe that nutrition counseling and education needs to be individualized to each person's needs. Healthy eating means something different to each person, and I want to partner with you to help reach those goals together.

Treatment approach: counseling and coaching on food choices to manage the disease, separating fact from fiction, improve the relationship with food, distinguish healthy eating plans that provide optimal nourishment, develop individualized meal plans, motivational interviewing.
