
Bone Health and Eating Disorders: Risks, Prevention, and Treatment for Optimizing Bone Health throughout Eating Disorder Recovery

In this presentation, Dr. Sarah-Ashley Robbins will explain how bone health is impacted by eating disorders and disordered eating. By reviewing current assessments, treatment recommendations, treatment options, and movement recommendations related to bone density loss, Dr. Robbins will provide clarity around best practices for providing eating disorder-informed bone healthcare.

Sarah-Ashley Robbins, MD (she/her) Bio:
Dr. Robbins was born and raised in Tallahassee, FL, and received her undergraduate (Nutrition and Food Sciences) and medical degrees at Florida State University. She moved west for her family medicine residency at Saint Joseph Hospital and fell in love with Colorado.
Prior to joining the Gaudiani Clinic team, Dr. Robbins worked at a primary care clinic in Denver following her residency where she practiced a broad spectrum of patient care. Over that period, she began making connections with eating disorder providers of all types in the Denver area, started seeing their clients in her outpatient clinic, and became a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp).
Dr. Robbins has served on medical mission trips to Jamaica and Nicaragua in addition to providing medical outreach to low-income and at-risk communities in both Colorado and Florida.
In her time outside of work, Dr. Robbins enjoys reading, traveling, biking, hiking, and spending time with her husband and dogs.
