
The Low-FODMAP Protocol and Considerations for Disordered Eating and Eating Disorders

This presentation will explore the intersection of managing IBS and eating disorders. We will dive into a gentle low FODMAP diet approach & alternative therapies for those that struggle with their relationship with food and IBS.

Following this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Describe the 3 phases of the low FODMAP diet protocol.
- Identify who is not a good candidate for the low FODMAP diet.
- Approach the FODMAP diet and alternative therapies for those who struggle with digestive distress and eating disorders.
Samina Qureshi, RDN, LD (she/her) Bio:
Samina Qureshi RDN, LD (she/her) is the founder and Registered Dietitian at Wholesome Start, LLC, a virtual nutrition practice based in Houston, Texas. She specializes in helping people who struggle with chronic dieting, binge eating, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) find relief and nourish their bodies without rigid diets, stress, guilt, or shame.
She encourages her clients to care for their health in a gentle way that best honors their lifestyle, unique needs, and cultural traditions. Through her weight-inclusive nutrition coaching, her clients are able to heal their relationship with food, feel confident nourishing their bodies, and find relief from their digestive distress.
She is currently accepting clients in her IBS Food Freedom Program to help people find balance with food and relief from their uncomfortable gut symptoms without a side of diet culture!
When she’s not working with clients, Samina enjoys going on walks with her dog and daughter and exploring new restaurants in town with her husband.
