SUMMARY:Adolescent FBT V2.0 Course Monthly Study Group
DESCRIPTION:This 60-minute live virtual study group is open and free to all enrolled in the EDRD Pro Working with Adolescents and Their Families in Eating Disorder Treatment Version 2.0 or 3.0 Course! Hosted by course instructors Katie Grubiak or Lauren Muhlheim\, the aim of this hour is to have a space to continue increasing knowledge and skills for dietitians supporting clients through Family Based Treatment (FBT). \n\n\n\nThere is no group size limit at this time (subject to change)\, but registration is required in advance. Dietitians will earn 1 CE credit for course attendance: groups will not be recorded to maintain privacy and encourage open discussion\, so attendance is expected. \n\n\n\nWe want these groups to address your biggest areas of need and your questions about the course or this area of work and need to hear from you to make that happen. Upon registration\, please feel free to submit a brief description of a question\, dilemma\, and/or theme in advance to katie@nutritionillumination.com. \n\n\n\nRegister here! \n\n\n\nKatie Grubiak\, RDN (she/her) Bio: \n\n\n\n\nKatie Grubiak\, RDN graduated from the Coordinated Program in Dietetics at The University of Texas at Austin. She first pursued a career in public health nutrition in San Diego and Los Angeles with a maternal-child focus. It was in the same underprivileged area of Los Angeles where she was serving nutritionally that she began to combine her passions\, teaching dance and guiding families of dancers to public health clinic access at a foundation called everybody dance! which was awarded by First Lady Michelle Obama the National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Award. Her involvement in multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment started at the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center. Katie developed a unique style of practicing Family Based Treatment (FBT) that was driven by her collaborations with Dr. Lauren Muhlheim at Eating Disorder Therapy LA. In addition\, Katie was the eating disorder dietitian at Optimum Performance Institute in Woodland Hills\, California which specializes in DBT-focused mental health residential treatment for young adults. Katie is now the Clinical FBT Supervisor for Side By Side Nutrition and is also a contributing clinician in the development\, testing\, and training of the new Recovery Record Family App which will connect families and clinicians through technology to provide recovery support between sessions. As a master trainer\, she is passing on her style of FBT-informed care to other dietitians by co-leading EDRD Pro’s FBT-Informed Eating Disorder Treatment: A Course for Dietitians.

SUMMARY:Weight Inclusive Diabetes and Eating Disorders December Consult Group
DESCRIPTION:Join your colleagues for a monthly group consultation focused specifically on supporting your clients & patients with diabetes and eating disorders/disordered eating\, facilitated by Erin Phillips\, MPH\, RD\, CDCES\, eating disorder dietitian and diabetes specialist. \nIn this laid-back group format\, we’ll discuss specific questions and topics brought by you specific to diabetes and disordered eating. People with diabetes are up to three times as likely to develop an eating disorder than those without diabetes\, but many clinicians feel that the recommendations for each of these diagnoses contradict each other\, leaving you and your clients & patients feeling stuck. This group is intended to provide guidance to this nuance. \nTo get you started\, here are some examples of what you might bring to the group: \n\nMedications\, side effects\, and how to discuss them with your client/patient\nWhere to start when your ED client/patient is diagnosed with diabetes\nWhat to know about insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors\nCase consultation on co-occurring diabetes and eating disorder\n\nRegistration is required\, and we’ll limit the number of members to 8 in order to keep it participatory. The group will take place monthly and will require registration each month. After registering\, you’ll receive information about where to send questions\, topics\, or your case study. \nRegistration opens here two weeks prior to the event. \n\n\n\n\n\nErin Phillips Bio:\nErin (she/her) is a Registered Dietitian (RD) whose work is grounded in Health at Every Size and fat-positive nutrition. She has an advanced certification as a diabetes specialist (CDCES) and has spent most of her career working with people living with all types of diabetes. \nShe has a private practice that focuses primarily on the intersection of diabetes and eating disorders. She works with people living with diabetes through individual counseling as well as providing consultation to clinicians looking to be more grounded and confident in supporting their clients and patients with co-occurring diagnoses of diabetes and eating disorders. \nWhile she loves geeking out over diabetes technology and blood sugar trends\, Erin also uses therapeutic techniques to guide her clients toward self-compassion and embodiment and finds both of these equally helpful in making peace with food and diabetes. \nErin has been a dietitian since 2008 and received advanced training in eating disorders\, HAES\, and Intuitive Eating. She has an undergraduate degree in food and nutrition science from Seattle Pacific University and a graduate degree in public health nutrition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. \nOutside of the office\, she loves rock climbing in the pacific northwest\, breakfast\, and showing you pictures of her cat (as often as you’ll let her!).
