Session Title: Breaking the Food Bank: Recovery and Food Insecurity

Kimmie Singh is a dietetic intern at Hunter College. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physics from St. John’s University. She completed her Master of Science in Nutrition from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Kimmie’s passion lies in the complexity of each individual’s relationship between food, body, and culture. She has experience working with refugees to overcome food insecurity through the development and implementation that of a program centered around cultural competency and community resources. Kimmie also presents and consults on the role of weight stigma in healthcare. Kimmie is a believer in kindness, self-compassion, and the power of advocacy.
