Eating Disorder Dietitian: Brittaney Berendsen RD

Description

As a Dietitian, my passion lies in helping individuals to liberate themselves from their eating disorders/ disordered eating patterns and reclaim their lives. I also really enjoy helping individuals to break free from diet culture and rediscover the joy of eating.

I practice with an attentive, holistic, non-diet, and food inclusive approach to nutrition therapy. My practice revolves around a Health at Every Size (HAES, R) philosophy with the understanding that bodies are not actionable. I utilize nutrition-focused aspects of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and Solutions- Focused Therapy with a Trauma informed lens. I employ a candid, compassionate, motivational and, strengths-based approach.

We will work together to unpack, process, rewire, and reframe your beliefs, thoughts, and experiences about health, diet, body image, and self-worth. You will be guided to develop deeper self compassion, resilience, mindfulness, connection with your body, and a healthier relationship with food. You will learn the fundamentals of gentle nutrition while building skills for application including meal planning, intuitive eating and much more! Our work offers a courageous first step towards healing your relationship with food and your body.

It is an honour to help those on their journey of eating disorder recovery, I look forward to hearing how I can best support you as you pursue a brighter chapter.

Cheers, Britt
