Sarah Berneche Nutrition
Sarah Berneche (she/her/hers) teaches adults how to eat guilt-free and get more satisfaction from -- and away from -- their plates.
By training, she's an anti-diet Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor, and author of "Enjoy It All: Improve Your Health and Happiness with Intuitive Eating" (Fremont Press, 2020). Operating from a weight-inclusive, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive lens, she specializes in working with adults affected by chronic dieting, disordered eating, and poor body image. She helps her clients to shift their thoughts and behaviours about food and body — all without weight loss goals — using a blend of cognitive, relational, and somatic approaches. Based out of Toronto, she supports clients both locally and internationally. Her counselling style has been described as client-centred, non-judgmental, and compassionate.
Third person aside, I subscribe to the following beliefs:
I may have formal training in nutrition, eating psychology, body image, but you are the expert of your own body.
I won’t tell you what to eat or police your food or beverage choices. Instead, I will help you to build confidence regarding your intake.
I believe nutrition is less complicated than the wellness industry would have us believe, and that health is far more complex than diet and exercise.
I believe all foods fit in a healthy diet — and that ditching the labels is vital to making peace with food.
Our body has a weight it will fight to stay at, and I celebrate and respect size diversity.
I trust your body. And with your permission, I'd be honoured to guide you toward body trust, too.
