Supplementation, Vitamins, and Minerals in Eating Disorder Recovery

February 13, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am PST

Knowledge of supplementation, vitamins, and minerals is essential for dietitians working with patients with eating disorders. This webinar will provide practitioners with a refresher of vitamins and minerals important in recovery. We will also cover supplementation basics and discuss when and what supplementation may be helpful for certain clients. There will also be practical tips and case studies on how discussing vitamins and minerals with clients themselves can help them achieve nutritional adequacy, variety, and frequency goals (i.e., talking about the importance of iron can help clients be more comfortable with iron-fortified foods like cereal and see their place in their own diets). This webinar is perfect for new and seasoned practitioners who are looking to refresh their advanced nutrition, supplementation, and micronutrient knowledge, as well as practice how to incorporate micronutrient knowledge in sessions with clients.

Learning Objectives:

Following this presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the vitamins and minerals important to eating disorder recovery
  2. Understand supplement options and recommendations
  3. Identify ways to educate about vitamins and minerals in sessions to help clients achieve nutrition goals
