New Leaf Nutrition Counseling
Description
We specialize in eating disorder recovery and nutrition counseling for those seeking an anti-diet approach for various nutrition needs. Our approach is client-centered, meaning we recognize not everyone is starting from the same place when reaching out for support and we will meet you where you're at on your journey by tailoring our support to meet your needs.
We practice nutrition counseling with an anti-diet, intuitive eating, and HAES® approach. This means that we uphold the belief that food is not black and white and that people in larger bodies deserve equal treatment in society, including healthcare. Additionally, we support and align with the fat liberation movement by acknowledging the systems within our society that oppress fat individuals and by participating in dismantling these systems.
We are also passionate about providing care to people of all backgrounds and identities. It is important to us to create a space that is safe, welcoming, and inclusive for everyone and every body.
In working with individuals with diverse backgrounds, we feel it’s important to acknowledge the various forms of privilege we have as individual providers. We realize that we do not share the lived experience of everyone we work with, which is why it is important to us to listen to your story and understand who you are as an ally in your journey and pursuit of healing.
