Hello! My name is Dr. Kelsey A. Varzeas, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Mental Performance Consultant who combines clinical expertise with mental skills training to support those who identify as athletes. My approach honors the unique social, cultural, physical, and mental stressors that athletes face as compared to their non-athlete peers.
I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, body image dissatisfaction, REDs/LEA, and overtraining syndrome. I am also trained to provide support in the areas of career counseling, stress management, anxiety, depression, self-worth, and life transitions.
Using an integrative, individualized, and evidence-based approach, I address each athlete’s unique needs weaving together components of CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, ACT, and HAES principles. It is my goal to provide athletes with a compassionate, warm, accepting, and collaborative space throughout their healing process.
