Nutrition With Barissa
Description
As a weight inclusive, non-diet dietitian and certified intuitive eating counselor, I’m passionate about helping people create a nourishing and flexible relationship with food. I received my bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Texas State University and completed my dietetic internship at Oregon State University. I now run my own private practice in Indiana, where I was born and raised. I utilize different evidence-based treatment modalities to fit needs such as motivational interviewing, Ellyn Satter model, principles of family-based treatment, CBT, and ACT. My aim is to provide a safe space for all bodies by providing weight inclusive care and practicing from a Health At Every Size lens. This means I focus on behavior changes (food, movement, sleep, stress, etc.), not weight changes. It is important to me that we work together as a team as nutrition is not meant to be a one size fits all approach. I am also a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) and am fluent in American Sign Language.
