Adolescent FBT V2.0 Course Monthly Study Group

October 23 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am PDT

This 60-minute live virtual study group is open and free to all enrolled in the EDRD Pro Working with Adolescents and Their Families in Eating Disorder Treatment Version 2.0 Course! Hosted by course instructors Katie Grubiak or Lauren Muhlheim, the aim of this hour is to have a space to continue increasing knowledge and skills for dietitians supporting clients through Family Based Treatment (FBT).

There is no group size limit at this time (subject to change), but registration is required in advance. Dietitians will earn 1 CE credit for course attendance: groups will not be recorded to maintain privacy and encourage open discussion, so attendance is expected.

We want these groups to address your biggest areas of need and your questions about the course or this area of work and need to hear from you to make that happen. Upon registration, please feel free to submit a brief description of a question, dilemma, and/or theme in advance to [email protected].

Registration link coming soon!

Katie Grubiak, RDN (she/her) Bio:

Katie Grubiak, RDN graduated from the Coordinated Program in Dietetics at The University of Texas at Austin. She first pursued a career in public health nutrition in San Diego and Los Angeles with a maternal-child focus.

It was in the same underprivileged area of Los Angeles where she was serving nutritionally that she began to combine her passions, teaching dance and guiding families of dancers to public health clinic access at a foundation called everybody dance! which was awarded by First Lady Michelle Obama the National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Award.

Her involvement in multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment started at the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center. Katie developed a unique style of practicing Family Based Treatment (FBT) that was driven by her collaborations with Dr. Lauren Muhlheim at Eating Disorder Therapy LA. In addition, Katie was the eating disorder dietitian at Optimum Performance Institute in Woodland Hills, California, which specializes in DBT-focused mental health residential treatment for young adults.

Katie is now the Clinical FBT Supervisor for Side By Side Nutrition and is also a contributing clinician in the development, testing, and training of the new Recovery Record Family App, which will connect families and clinicians through technology to provide recovery support between sessions. As a master trainer, she is passing on her style of FBT-informed care to other dietitians by co-leading EDRD Pro’s FBT-Informed Eating Disorder Treatment: A Course for Dietitians.
