This webinar will provide eating disorder-informed nutrition counseling strategies to guide clinicians working with clients who have blood sugar concerns (diabetes, pre-diabetes, GDM, family history). We will review the science behind DM and Intuitive Eating, and how to help clients manage BG without dieting or restricting by taking an additive approach. |
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the root causes of diabetes.
- Describe at least 3 non-nutrition-related ways that blood glucose management may be improved in someone with diabetes or pre-diabetes.
- Name at least one evidence-based dietary supplement that may be appropriate for some people with blood sugar concerns.
- Be able to apply the principles of intuitive eating in the context of diabetes.

Janice Dada is a weight-inclusive registered dietitian and author with a private practice in Newport Beach, CA. She is a certified intuitive eating counselor, certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES), and certified eating disorders specialist (CEDS). She is passionate about simplifying and destigmatizing the nutrition- and weight-based discourse around diabetes. Her book, Intuitive Eating for Diabetes: The No Shame, No Blame, Non-Diet Approach to Managing Your Blood Sugar was published in April 2025. |
