Participants will learn to cultivate attunement, autonomy-supportive collaboration, and mindful self-awareness in goal setting to foster intrinsic motivation and sustainable recovery. |
Learning Objectives:
Following this presentation, participants will:
- Differentiate between provider-driven and client-driven goals in the treatment process.
- Identify signs of misalignment and understand their clinical implications.
- Apply strategies to recalibrate goals collaboratively with clients.
- Reflect on personal values, countertransference, and “rescue” impulses that influence treatment direction.
