Because “figure it out as you go” shouldn’t be the standard for treating adolescents with eating disorders
Most dietitians who end up on an FBT team learn on the job, piecing together protocol from conference sessions, hallway conversations, and trial and error with real families. Family-Based Treatment is one of the most effective approaches we have for adolescent eating disorders, yet dietitian-specific training in how to actually implement it has been almost impossible to find. Until now.
What you’ll walk away with
Confident Grasp of FBT’s Core Components
A clear understanding of how they apply specifically to your role as the dietitian on the team through all three phases of threatment.
Method for Determining Target Weight Ranges
A repeatable method for determining individualized target weight ranges along the recovery timeline, so you’re never guessing.
Practical Feeding Strategies
Practical feeding strategies and behavior management plans you can use with families.
Tools to Support Families
The tools to support families through the messy parts: crisis moments, plateaus, ambivalence, and relapse.
Return-to-Sport Guidelines
Guidelines and clear instructions on navigating physical activity and recovery.
Specialized Guidance
Specialized guidance for diverse populations, ARFID, and higher levels of care.
Plus direct instruction from leaders in the field, including Renee Rienecke, PhD; Rebecka Peebles, MD; and Sarah Tores, RD
Who is this for?
Dietitians who are ready to stop learning FBT by accident and start practicing it with real skill, whether you’re brand new to eating disorder work or you’ve been doing this for years and want to sharpen what you know.
Enroll now and become the dietitian every family needs in child and adolescent eating disorder treatment. The field needs many more RDs who are confident in working with families and young patients. Join us!
