Elisabeth Peterson, RDN, CEDS-C (she/her)
Description
Hi, I’m Elisabeth Peterson, a registered dietitian, medical nutrition therapist, and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant (CEDS-C) with more than three decades of experience helping individuals heal their relationship with food, body, and themselves.
My practice is rooted in a trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, anti-oppressive, and anti-diet philosophy. I recognize that our relationship with food and our bodies is shaped by biology, culture, lived experience, trauma, neurodiversity, sensory experiences, and the systems we navigate. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, heard, and understood. Together, we’ll explore your relationship with food and your body with curiosity and compassion, honoring your unique experiences, sensory needs, culture, and values. Rather than striving for a one-size-fits-all way of eating, we’ll discover what nourishment and recovery look like for you—working toward consistent nourishment, greater body trust, and a more peaceful relationship with food.
I work virtually with adolescents and adults experiencing anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, OSFED, chronic dieting, body image concerns, and disordered eating. I recognize that recovery looks different for every person and strive to create a space where you don’t have to mask, perform recovery, or fit a particular mold in order to be supported. My goal is to help you discover what recovery looks like for you.
Connection is at the heart of my work. In addition to individual nutrition therapy, I facilitate ongoing support groups and book discussions because healing is often strengthened in community—through being witnessed, understood, and reminded that you are not alone.
Professionally, I am a member of the Advisory Board for Within Health, and co-founded Light of the Moon Café with Dr. Anita Johnston to expand access to education, connection, and healing around eating disorders and body image and I serve on the Certification and Supervision Committee for the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp). I am also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, Certified Body Trust® Specialist, and an Embodied Recovery Institute Tier 2 Provider.
Whether you’re beginning recovery, returning after a setback, or supporting someone you love, I hope you’ll find a place where you feel welcomed, respected, and empowered. Recovery is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.
