Juliana Sampaio, MS, RD, LDN

Juliana grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Virginia Tech. As a first-generation Brazilian American, she is fluent in Portuguese and appreciates how different cultural backgrounds contribute to body and food issues.

While at Virginia Tech, Juliana gained a wide range of experience working with kids and young adults as a swim instructor, peer health educator, and student nutrition counselor. Juliana is certified in The Body Project, a group body image and self-esteem program for young women developed by the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) and has led groups for college students, adolescents, and young adults in her practice.

Juliana completed her master’s degree in nutrition at Boston University and a dietetic internship at Boston Medical Center. She has experience working with diverse patient populations and a wide range of health issues. She developed a passion for culinary medicine while working in BMC’s Teaching Kitchen.

Juliana has experience working with all types of eating disorders with a particular affinity for binge eating disorder. She is passionate about helping people of all ages and genders heal their relationship with food and their bodies. She particularly enjoys helping clients determine what foods they most enjoy and encouraging creativity in the kitchen.
