Sara Palmer, MS, RD, LD, IBCLC, CLC

I’m Sara Palmer. I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration, a Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the states of South Carolina and West Virginia, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) through the International Board of Lactation Consultants Examiners, and a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice.

I help women repair their relationship with food and their body while navigating eating disorders/disordered eating, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, other reproductive health concerns, and feeding their family. I want to help you reconnect to your body, feel confident around food, and enjoy your life. You deserve to be at peace with food and your body.

As fiercely as I love nutrition, it is not the end all be all. Your health, your nutrition, and your body size should never stand in the way of you receiving respectful and individualized care. This is why I practice as an anti-diet, weight inclusive provider, utilizing the Health at Every Size & Intuitive Eating frameworks & principles to guide our sessions. This means you’ll get help improving your relationship with food in a way that doesn’t focus on your weight, put you on a diet, or shame you for your choices. Instead, you’ll get compassionate, inclusive, and ethical care. We’ll focus on adding things into your life, instead of creating rigid food rules and restrictions.

I am extremely passionate about helping women cultivate and nurture a peaceful and healthy relationship with food and their body. I’ve spent the last decade immersed in maternal child health, learning and growing through educational trainings, clinical supervision, leadership programs, business trainings, and more. My favorite growth comes from my one on one sessions with my incredibly brave and strong clients. I’ve worked in clinical dietetics providing medical nutrition therapy to complex conditions. I’ve spent some time working directly with moms, dads, foster parents, caregivers, and kiddos through WIC, SNAP-Ed, and EFNEP. Now, I spend my weekdays as the nutrition consultant for the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) Program, and my evenings/weekends seeing clients one on one in my private practice.

In my downtime, you’ll catch me laying on the couch with my pets and a good book, browsing a used bookstore with a fun drink, exploring the Carolinas, or spending time with family and friends. I’d love to connect! Instagram is my social media of choice. I share free educational material on there, so be sure to follow along – @sarapalmerrd
